About Simple Is More

Simplicity creates room for more.

An approach to work and life.

How it began

Simple Is More began during a drive from Norfolk, UK, to a train station near Cambridge. Friends and collaborators Ko Kawashima and Adrian Scoffham were talking about how life feels today: noise, distraction, pressure to keep up, and a longing for meaningful connection.

AI is changing how we work, create, and seek companionship. Social media brings other people’s lives, appearances, and achievements into constant view. There is so much to absorb, respond to, and measure ourselves against, often before we have had a moment to ask what we actually want.

Our conversation returned to something deeply human: the importance of community, feeling heard and understood, and having enough space to enjoy being alive.

Somewhere along that drive, a question took shape:

What becomes possible when we make room to discover what matters?

Why simplicity matters

The pandemic prompted many of us to reconsider how we wanted to work and live. Those questions have remained. Competing demands continue to pull our attention in different directions. Work, relationships, responsibilities, and the pressure to remain available can leave little room to reflect, rest properly, or follow our curiosity.

When that space disappears, decisions become reactive, priorities blur, relationships receive less attention, and even the things we care about can begin to feel like another task.

We may sense that something needs to change without knowing what we want instead. Simplicity creates space to explore that uncertainty, recognize what matters, choose where our energy goes, and find a rhythm that supports both our ambitions and our wellbeing.

What Simple Is More is

Simple Is More is a way of thinking, being, and living, brought into practice through services, experiences, and programmes for work and life.

All of us are multifaceted human beings. The different parts of our lives influence one another, yet we can become so focused on what we do that we lose touch with who we are and how we want to live.

An ontological perspective runs through our work. We pay attention to our ways of being, how we see ourselves, how we relate to others, and how we engage with the world. Alongside practical action, we make room to examine the assumptions, habits, and expectations shaping our choices.

We bring this wider perspective to everything we offer, supporting clearer, more considered decisions in business and creating opportunities for discovery, connection, and fulfilment in life.

How we bring it to life

We begin by listening closely, understanding your circumstances, and exploring what you want to change, create, or discover.

We bring together different perspectives to shape practical support and meaningful experiences around what you genuinely need. This might mean seeing your business more clearly, finding a manageable way forward, or spending time somewhere that opens a different perspective.

The form may change, but the intention remains consistent: to reduce unnecessary complexity and create more room for clarity, connection, curiosity, and considered action.

Starting Point

We are beginning with two programmes that bring Simple Is More into practice in different ways.
